On the 28th April, four three six - in association with Baby People and Quad, present an evening of all things Street Art at Quad in Derby. A screening of new documentary Wall Writers is followed by a panel discussion and music.
Wall Writers explores the rise of Graffiti and Street Art. Before artists like Banksy and Shepard Fairey becames recognized names, there were the graffiti pioneers who were responsible for adding such things as the first ever crown or arrow to their moniker beginning the evolution of style. Exploring the early graffiti writing and the creators, the culture that drove them to write and the new technology of spray paint that made it possible. Narrated by John Waters, Wall Writers features unprecedented access to TAKI183, CORNBREAD, and other legendary writers and features archive footage from the late 60s and early 70s, a time when underprivileged city kids refused to remain in the shadows.
There will be a panel discussion around Graffiti and the Street Art movement with Baby J of Baby People, Dilk from Montana Shop Nottingham, Derby Graffiti Artist Sire, and Nottingham Street Artist Tim Onga moderated by four three six's Andy McAllister.
